Professional Portfolio

On the JobWelcome. What you’ll find here is a sampling of work that represents both the best of what I can do and the areas about which I’m most passionate.

A few motifs bind it all together. For one, I’ve recently completed a master’s degree in library and information science at the University of Washington. The portfolio items draw on professional experiences that led me to pursue the degree as well as course work completed during it.

These experiences pertain to 1) information and communication studies and 2) south and west Asian area studies and languages—the two areas of greatest interest to me professionally. Ultimately, I hope to find a niche within an academic or nonprofit organization addressing global information issues (especially relating to information access and cultural heritage) as a researcher or in a similar capacity that demands both subject knowledge and technical expertise.

Please take a look around the portfolio for a better flavor of my work and of who I am. You’ll find me on Twitter, too: @asile.
